Banner Dimensions
and Directions
Begin with a piece that is 96 1/2" by 31". A 3" hem (channel)
is required for the bracket poles to fit in. Turn under 1/4" before
you make the hem. On the width, start with 31" in order to have 1/2"
on each side so you can turn under 1/4", then 1/4" again, then
sew.
The grommet reinforcers are extra pieces of material at each end of the
banner, sewn just beyond the hemline. They should be approximately 11/2"
square made like a sandwich of three layers: first the banner itself,
then a piece of cotton or other heavy material, then a piece of banner
material on top, both small pieces sewn directly onto the body of the
banner. If your banner material is heavy to begin with, you only need
one additional layer. This is needed so that the grommets won't tear the
banner in heavy winds.
Plan on 2-2/3 yards for the main body of the banner
Please try to have your banner measure as close to 90"
as possible.
When they are short, they pose a problem for the Village to hang.
